Regions compete for talent, and the topic dominates strategic planning discussions for most chambers and economic development organizations. Communities need to align meaningful job opportunities with skills. By fostering education attainment initiatives, we can address skills-jobs disconnects and tap the abundance of employment and talent opportunities. We must also create an environment in which talent can migrate freely within, and be attracted to. Explore new opportunities available on the North Shore and join the dialogue at the Nov. 1 Breakfast.

Business Studio: Shift Your Style with UNFOLDID
11/16/2017 11:45 AM - 2:00 PM
Business Studio Workshops are designed to give business professionals tools and techniques to make your venture a success! You will still enjoy a great meal and make valuable contacts, but we want your time spent with us to be meaningful for your business, too.
Is it time to dress more professionally or polish up your look? Do you have a closet full of clothes that you never wear, unsure how to use them or whether you should even keep them? A number of recent studies suggest that dressing up for work in a suit or blazer could do wonders for an employee’s productivity, whether going into a negotiation, making a sales call or even participating in a video conference with business associates.
What kinds of clothes qualify as formal or higher-status dress, of course, can depend on the industry or whom you talk to. Style is more than wearing trendy or designer clothes. It’s about having a polished look that flatters and defines you perfectly. We will talk about fall trends and dressing for your silhouette.
11:45am - Registration
Noon - Enjoy lunch and get to know people at your table
12:30 - Speaker and presentation

Power UP! @ Boston Children's Peabody
11/29/2017 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM
Building a referral network comes in many forms. Business professionals who are active in a local chamber of commerce are interested in building long term relationships, that produce strong, repeat referrals - for you and them.
This month is sponsored by ChamberforGood and Peabody Wealth Advisors.
Being seen as supportive of non profit organizations is also an easy way to show your commitment to the local community. Since this is the season of giving, we would like to introduce you to the various non-profit groups to learn what their mission is, who they serve, and how you can help. There are many ways to offer help - It could be through volunteering, donating items, hosting a collection or financial. All are needed and equally important.
Learn how picking to work with 1 or 2 organizations can help raise your business profile, gain visibility to supporters of the non profit who return the favor through patronage, and open opportunities for business.
